Also one of the most common classes we teach is IB Math Analysis & Approaches Standard Level (Analysis SL). This is one of the more popular math classes at the international schools here in Barcelona like ASB and BFIS.

Next, It is very important for the students to practice past papers. This is what they call IB exams from the previous years. Although the Analysis and Approaches math started in 2020 it is very similar to the old IB math standard level. For this reason students should practice old IB exams from the standard level. Not only do they need to know the math, but the students need to understand the way in which the IB program writes the questions and all of the special symbols that they use because the symbols are not often in the book or homework.
Internal Assessment
Finally the student will have to do an internal assessment (IA). This is a 12 to 20 page paper that they have to write on the topic of their choosing. Many students do not like this assignment as it is very open. It is not like the other classes in which the IAs are more structured. Many students struggle with the open endedness of this assignment.
