Private classes in Barcelona and the Extended Essay (EE)
In this post I will talk about online private classes in Barcelona and the Extended Essay (EE) for the International Baccalaureate (IB) program.
Apart from the six required classes you have to do in the IB program students have to complete the EE, theory of knowledge (TOK) and the CAS project.
Because the extended essay is choosen per subjects and students get to choose in which subject they would like to write their EE about. The EE is a 4000 words research paper on the topic of their choice. Because it is a lot of work it is best if you pick something that you like and want to write about. Pick something from your favorite class. The EE guide is a really good resource so use it.

In the guide above go to the contents page on page 8 and there you will see that it starts subject specific guidance. This section will give sample topics and research questions (RQ) for each topic. Your school will assign you and EE advisor to guide you on the EE writing process. Your advisor will help you choose a good RQ.
Since the EE is a research project it is very important that you choose good sources to cite to answer your RQ. Think about the credentials of the author of the source. So what education do they have? Why are they an expert? When was the source written? etc. Then the guide bellow will show you how to critically analyze sources:

Because picking good sources is super important. Think to yourself: If a professional in this field were going to answer the RQ what would they do? Have they already written books on something similar? Or have experts already answered a similar question? If so how did they do it?
