How to get better grades, IB Maths Tutor
In this post I am going to explain how to get better grades.
The first and most important thing is that students must go to class in school. Often students skip school and are “sick” and then do not go to class. This hurts their grades as they do not learn and see the new class material.

After they attend class it is best to sit in the front of class. If you sit in the front row there will be less distractions and you will be more focused.
Then take notes, while the teacher is giving lecture or doing example problems take notes, write things down. Copy the sample problems the teacher does, do not just take a photo. Have one big notebook for each subject where you write everything down for that subject.

Go to the office hours of the teacher. Teachers are often available before or after school and/or they have office hours where they will answers the students questions. Attend these office hours for two reasons: One, it will show your teacher that you are working hard and putting in effort into the class. Teachers do not like to give bad grades to students who are really working hard. Two, you will be able to learn more and ask the teacher questions to clear up any doubts that you have.
Each day after school go home and practice what you have learned. Do at least 30 minutes each day, go through the problems in the book and see if you are able to do them. After you can do the book level problems go on to past paper level questions. Remember that the IB program has a trick to it in that the past papers are harder than the book level, so you will always need to go through IB question banks to practice past papers of that level.
