Individual Classes – IB chemistry IA Part 1
Firstly this post will talk about the International Baccalaureate (IB) program chemistry internal assessment (IA) for both the higher and standard level (SL).

Second read the sample in the link above.
Many students do not like to do the IA because the IB program just says: “do chemistry” without telling the students what exactly they need to do. Students do not like this. In general students prefer a worksheet with simple numbered exercises. The good thing is that in general in the schools the chemistry teachers will give the students an experiment that they should do. So in my experience the students do not have to come up with their own experiment.

However some students do not like the topic that the teachers come up with. This could be because they find it boring or there is no real world application that they can really relate to. It is important to keep in mind that it is your teacher who will give you your grade. So your real job is to keep your teacher happy. Some teachers will not admit that it is them who will give you your grade. This is because they do not want pressure from students and families to give higher grades.
They will often allege that there is a “IB moderator” who is going to check their work. But the reality is that the teachers give the students the grade. So when your teachers gives you a topic make sure to say thank you. And that it is a great idea. Part of your real job is to keep them happy.
Later you can research what is the real world application of the experiment that they gave you to be able to write the introduction
