Find IB tutor – IB AA SL internal assessment
This post will talk about the Internal Assessment (IA) for the IB math class Analysis and Approaches Standard Level (AA SL). Students do not like to do the internal assessment because the IB program just tells the students: “do math”.
The IB program does not tell the students what they need to do. The students have to pick a topic that they want to apply math to. meanwhile many students do not like this because it is very open ended. The IB just says: “do math”. Students pick any topic they want. I recommend students pick something they are interested in. You can choose football, games, social media, anything.
The goal is to be able to apply math to this topic.
This link has many ideas: https://ibmathsresources.com/maths-ia-maths-exploration-topics/
consequently you pick an idea, the next step is to figure out what math you are going to do for that idea.
The best way to do this is to go through the contents page of the text book: Link to contents page of AA SL textbook contents page.
For instance with your topic in mind look at the contents page of the text book and think of everything you can apply.
Above all use math that you learn in the IB program an apply it to your topic.
After that read this sample:

Next the student picked the topic of modelling rainfall. Meanwhile they did math which is in the IB syllabus and at their level to explain rainfall. Most importantly notice how they also went a little beyond their level.
This is the way to get a good grade. Certainly show the teacher that you worked very hard. For instance your teacher at school is the one who will grade the IA so it is important that they are happy.
