IB math tutor online – TOK exhibition part 2

This post is part 2 of the TOK exhibition. Now that you have selected your prompt, pick three objects, “students are encouraged to choose objects that are of personal interest and that they have come accross in their academic studies” This means you could pick something like YOUR calculator or some object that you actually own. To include it in the exhibition just take a photo of it.

Do not write an introduction that is really not needed.

Just go into the first object and for each object talk about:

  1. Identify the object and specific real world context
  2. Explain the link to the prompt
  3. Justify the inclusion of the object

Here is a link to a good youtube video from a TOK teacher that gives a really good example of this:

Watch the above video.

For example from the video we can see that point one is simple to tell us what the object is and what it does in the real world.

However do not waste points/words tying the prompt to one of the theme’s of TOK because there are no points for that in the grading criteria.

In other words have each of your three different objects give a different answer to the prompt. This will add depth and complexity to your exhibition and show that you have considered different perspectives.

Do not write a conclusion. Only write things that will get you points. The exhibition is only 950 words so you have only around 300 words per objects. This is a very small word count to be able to get the three points in for each object.

As a result Get more points by including references and citations from credible academic sources.

Therefore Show your teacher that you have worked hard by doing extra research for the sources.
