Private English Tutor Barcelona to help with the internal assessments (IA) of the international baccalaureate (IB) program. This post will talk about the IAs of IB math: Analysis & Approaches SL/HL and Applications &Interpretations SL/HL.
The IAs for the four math classes can be very different.
Here is a sample of an AI SL IA that got a good grade:
One of the best ways to do this IA in math is be inspired by the sample above and do something that is similar. In the sample they use the two variables of cars and carbon emissions, but you can do a very similar IA by just picking to other variables. The web site Gap Minder has a lot of data you can use:
For the IAs of the other three math classes you can use this website which has many ideas:

On the above web site there are over 300 ideas to choose from, and/or you can do something similar to one of their ideas.
Here is a sample of an AA SL IA that got a good grade:
As you can see it is mostly math. The fact that it is mostly math is the most important part of the IA. Take the time an effort to write out all of your equations in Microsoft Word with the equation editor. It should look professional and look like it could have been printed in a text book. If it looks good and professional you will get lots of points.
The most important part of the IA is the math you are going to do. When you pick a topic from the list make sure to think about the math you are going to do. Pick math that is in your math syllabus and it would be easier for you if you pick math that you have already done and understand.
